The 2008 Spring Best Practices Session and Safety/Claims Workshop were held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago, IL. Wednesday started off with the Best Practices Session, a one-day session consisting of industry group and topic-specific breakouts. Not only did the Session have the highest attendance to date, but it was also considered to be the most successful one yet! The meeting provided an opportunity for our members to share Best Practices currently being utilized in their Safety, Claims and Risk Management efforts, and consisted of topics such as: Construction Defect Issues, Developing a High Performance Safety Culture, Introduction to Behavior Based Safety, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Post-Accident Response on Serious Claims, and The Fastest Way to a Fit Workforce.

ACIG in conjunction with Ames & Gough, conducted their first Professional and Pollution liability forum on March 11, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago, IL. The meeting was well attended by enrolled members of the program as well as prospective members. Ames & Gough our intermediary, did an outstanding job in conducting the topical sessions. Key topics included, professional liability exposures for contractors, project-specific professional policies, pollution liabilities including Brownfield and infill projects and various claims studies were reviewed. In addition, hot topics were discussed including BIM, sustainable projects, E-Discovery and JV’s among others.
