Root Cause
Incident investigation and root cause analysis is a necessary tool to help ensure that there is not a recurrence of incidents that have taken place at work. To ensure a high quality analysis, companies must have the ability and the skill to do thorough investigations. With a thorough investigation, a root cause analysis can be completed for a particular incident. Root causes are the reasons why an incident has occurred, and with their identification, corrective actions can be put in place to prevent a similar incident from occurring.
In the construction industry, without the ability and skill to identify root causes after an incident it will cost a company in several ways to include a slip in schedule, increase costs, and most importantly, continued injury to employees which are the biggest asset of a construction company.
